Hall of Commitment - #TBT to 2014

In preparation for our December 2016 Beta Eta senior graduates, we take you back to 2014 to enjoy the fun of opening the new hall to alumnae membership.

These fabulous alumnae helped usher 43 seniors  into alumnae life and through the Hall of Commitment.

This was the big group, and we always have a second round for those with conflicting schedules!

We hated for anyone to miss their last ritual event for a bit, so we held a "remix" as well a few weeks later.

Our seniors receive a carnation like in Initiation, notecards (encouragement to stay in touch and write thank you notes! #etiquette); a star bowl to remind them of the three stars on the Coat of Arms and ritual; and an electronic notebook we prepared to help them transition into "the real world", and to show them Alpha Chi Omega's relevance for their lifetime. #4lifenot4years.

Highlighting Real. Strong. Women. for 2016

What a way to start our year:  Thinking about our 75-year member, Ms. Mary Budd Holmes

Celebrating Mary Budd's 90th Birthday! with Epsilon Tau Epsilon members from Tallahassee and Thomasville:
Linda (Gamma Epsilon), Barbara (Beta Eta), Mary Budd (Beta Eta), Amy (Zeta Upsilon, ETE President), Jenn (Theta Lambda, ETE Treasurer)

Mary Budd's Initiation Certificate and her badge:  Both items now reside at Beta Eta chapter in Tallahassee. Mary Budd donated the items to the chapter, and the advisory board made a shadow box with them for the chapter's formal living room.

#GivingTuesday #AlphaChiOmega Foundation - where does my $$$ go?

Collegians (and alumnae), why should you contribute to the #Foundation?

Giving means more scholarships and grants for collegiate and alumnae members. It means that more campuses across the country will get to hear Andrea Cooper (Tri Delta alumna) speak about the tragic yet inspirational story of her daughter Kristin (Alpha Chi Omega sister). Giving to the Foundation ensures the Alpha Chi Omega experience meets the needs of women both today and tomorrow.
with “Kristin’s Story.”

Giving means more financial support for the enhancement of existing Fraternity programming and the development of new, exciting initiatives such as MyJourney, the ASTP (Alcohol Skills Training Program), #InTune and #AXOGSI (global service initiative).

Thanks University of Oregon, Alpha Kappa chapter for the enthusiasm about #MyJourney! We loved this blog post so much we wanted to share, and show other sisters the Alpha Chi Omega experience in action.

MyJourney is an Alpha Chi Omega-only, four-year program designed to give Freshmen - Seniors real world, life skills training through fun, interesting and research-based, peer-led curriculum. All Vice Presidents of  Membership Programming implement this exciting curriculum in their chapter. Our #alumnae volunteers, Advisors and Specialists convey facilitation and program training to ensure the leaders successful implementation for the sessions. BONUS:  The facilitation workshop and skills look FABULOUS on a resume! Woot!

Hall of Commitment - Winter Edition 2014 Revisit

Last Fall we welcomed Kelly Aller into the Hall of Commitment (used to be known as Hall of Maturity). Kelly started teaching elementary school in Leon County in January!

We love to share our ritual with our graduating seniors as a reminder to them of the lifetime importance and relevance of our ritual, and, or course Alpha Chi Omega is #4lifenot4years!

Isn't this an adorable #Pinterest gift from her #AXO family?

The proud graduate and her beau.

@lyresontires: Young #AXO Alumnae having fun for a good cause #DVA

What do you do when you are smart, full of altruistic spirit, just graduated and want to put your Alpha Chi Omega values of Wisdom. Devotion. Achievement to good use? Drive cross country meeting sisters and writing a cookbook whose proceeds go to support survivors of domestic violence.

Do AXO sisters amaze you every day with their creativity or what? Doesn't that sound like an invigorating way to learn about business, practice philanthropy and meet new sisters?

Never to miss such a great opportunity, Epsilon Tau Epsilon hosted them at our gracious president's house for make-your-own pizza night!

Painting with a Twist Recap - #TBT

We had such a good time before recruitment started in August 2012 at Painting with a Twist!
In honor of our Founders' Day on October 15th, we celebrate ETE's sisterhood with this recap.

With alumnae from five collegiate chapters represented, we enjoyed snacks, drinks, cupcakes and the society of our sisters while we stretched our creative and artistic muscles!

In true Alpha Chi Omega form - we chose to paint peacocks in honor of Hera!

Recapping 2011 Alpha Chi Omega State Day: Florida #TBT

One of our beloved collegians Tracy - a rockstar this one! She served on the executive board at Beta Eta, Rho Lambda and numerous other organizations and honor societies at FSU. She went on to receive her J.D. from UF. During her time at UF she served as the New Member Education advisor. Here she speaks on behalf of Alpha Ch Omega Foundation; she received two scholarships from Foundation during her time in school. Tracy radiates our five membership criteria!

We always make time to purchase stars at the Star Booth to honor our sisters and assist Foundation!

Look at this fine group of Beta Eta alumnae and collegians! We appreciate all they give to Alpha Chi Omega and our lifelong Bond of sisterhood.

We Love Alpha Chi Consultants #AXO

What do our consultants do? ...

They befriend, they counsel, they comfort, they crack the whip (JK), they enlighten, they evaluate, they model our Real.Strong.Women., #RSW, brand and exhibit Wisdom.Devotion.Achievement., #WDA, in their daily living.

Each collegiate chapter receives at least one consultant visit each school year. Sometimes chapters get nervous when a consultant visits, but really they should get EXCITED. Chapters who excel to the Olive level embrace their consultants, seek their advice and make them 'one of the chapter'.

and if they're lucky consultants and visit Tallahassee, they get to dine with our fun, local alumnae! Arianna (from Baltimore and Kappa Xi initiate) visited us in 2013.
Amy Z (Zeta Upsilon and president); Jenn (Theta Lambda and treasurer); Kristen (Gamma Iota/Beta Eta); Meagan  (Kappa Xi); Britain (Beta Eta); Magie (Pi) and Arianna (Kappa Xi) in front!

Arianna sharing our Backstops and reminding Beta Etas to put our VALUES first!

And we are SO LUCKY to report Arianna will be attending graduate school at FSU! Epsilon Tau Epsilon will get to enjoy her for two more years! We could not be more thrilled!

Alpha Chi Omega and ... Agriculture

Our dear alumna who epitomizes kindness and refinement is Sara Lou (Beta Eta, FSU). We love this photograph or her and her husband Ellis winning an award.

Fun fact, Sara Lou is Leon High School graduate, and long-time friend of another of our beloved alumnae, Betty Barnett (d. April 2013)

Life Loyal - A Creative and Meaningful Graduation Gift

We love this creative and meaningful gift, and we love our Kappa Xi chapter (Amy, Britain and Jenn attended the colony's Initiation and Installation in 2006, and Beta Eta sisters conducted the ceremony.)

Beta Eta's recruitment advisor Meaghan (Kappa Xi) is at the top of the family pyramid (on the left)! Love it.

State Day in Florida 2013

Remember our previous post where we described State Day?

The Beta Eta collegians and Epsilon Tau Epsilon alumnae enjoyed a fun and productive day at Stetson hosted by our Gamma Chi chapter. The morning was spent learning about our Strengths and how we can focus on those to make ourselves more productive executive board members, chapter members and Alpha Chi Omega citizens. After a yummy lunch, we broke out to learn about utilizing social media, MyJourney, MissRepresentation, financial accountability and more. It was a fun day of meeting new sisters and honing our personal best to become Real. Strong. Women.
