Beta Eta Founders' Day - 83 years and Still Achieveing the Heights

The Beta Eta collegians invited their local ETE alumnae over for the 83rd Founders' Day Dinner. Beta Eta was founded at the Florida State College for Women March 29, 1929.

We enjoyed viewing the chapter's charter, seeing the gentlemen of Sigma Phi Epsilon who stopped by to bring chocolate-covered strawberries for the occasion, and dining on chicken marsala. Alumnae from old chapters to young chapters attended the event. We represented Pi chapter, Beta Eta chapter, Theta Lambda chapter and Kappa Xi chapter.

Marie the house director always decorates for the seasons and she sent the alumnae home with Gerber daises set in spring buckets - what a treat!

We follow the fantastic Kim Wells with Corporate Alliance to End Partner Violence and highly recommend their website as a learning resource, http://www.caepv.org/.

We were pleased to see this recent article in the Tallahassee Democrat addressing the subject.

#AXORitualWeek - Connect with a Sister

Connect with a sister you haven’t spoken to for awhile.
Go to lunch. Have a phone date. Send a card. Write a text.
Make time one day this week to reach out to and tell her why you’re glad she’s your
sister.

If there is a sister that you have lost touch with over the past couple
of years, please feel free to contact headquarters to see how we can help the
two of you reconnect.

Use some fun peacock cards (metmuseum.org):

Happy International Women's Day!!

Some fun ideas for celebrating International Women's Day (that celebrate Alpha Chi Omega Ritual Celebration Week too!):

  • call, text or email a sister! or 2. or 3.
  • watch Saving Face tonight on HBO at 8:30pm ET. This film spotlights women in Pakistan who've faced one of the worst kinds of domestic violence - acid attacks - and the work they've done to heal and change the laws in their country. See attached flier and http://savingfacefilm.com
  • write your members of Congress and ask them to reauthorize VAWA (the Violence Against Women Act) - visit http://4vawa.org/ to learn more and take action.
  • Like the National Women's History Museum on facebook http://www.facebook.com/pages/National-Womens-History-Museum/19072122251?ref=ts and enjoy their daily Women's History Month trivia questions.
