Music Fest Will Benefit Refuge House - DVA

MusicFest 2010: Sounds of Hope, a Benefit for Refuge House, will be held on Sunday, October 17, from Noon to 5:00 p.m. on the spacious grounds of Unity Eastside Church, 8551 Buck Lake Road in Tallahassee. It’s a non-religious community event.   
Community friends are joining with members of Unity Eastside to create MusicFest 2010. Sponsors and volunteers are being sought now.
This event will feature 4 hours of music on 2 stages, performed by well-known local musicians. Performers will include Sir Charles AtkinsThe New 76ersHarvest GypsiesFrank Lindamood, Mark Russell, Reckless Daughters and Cicada Ladies. 
There will also be
  • Silent Auction
  • Seated Massage
  • Fabulous Food
  • Bake Sale
  • Fun Activities for Children and Adults. 
Tickets: $10 for adults; $5 for children; free for children under 5! 
All proceeds of the event go to Refuge House, which has provided safe shelter and related services for women and children escaping abuse since 1979. Today, the need for their services is greater than ever, but funding is harder to find.
